The direction given for the evening was Moulin Rouge. The entertainment for this event needed to be classy yet a little bit cheeky, to excite those hard working doctors!
The chosen venue was The Landmark Hotel, Marylebone, this stunning five star hotel offers various large, elegant event spaces. The event took place in the Ballroom, which holds up to 500 for a reception and has a large foyer area outside.
This event welcomed 500 people to the Ballroom to raise money for a £1 million medical appeal. The Moulin Rouge scene was set on entrance to the Ballroom, as guests arrived they were greeted by glamorous Showgirls in a Moulin Rouge inspired photo area. Guests queued to have their photo taken with the Showgirls in front of a large Moulin Rouge backdrop with red carpet, ropes and posts.
Within the Ballroom itself, mood lighting was installed lighting the walls in red. As guests entered they were met with the sounds of a French Accordionist, wandering around the Ballroom is his French attire.
After the formality of the silent action was introduced it was time for the entertainment to start. On the brief of the event our Uptown Events dance choreographer, designed three bespoke Moulin Rouge inspired routines. The six girls burst into the room in scantily clad Moulin Rouge outfits at various periods throughout the evening to deliver the three dance routines. The girls started with a Showgirl routine, mixed it up with a Lady marmalade routine and finished with an excellent Can Can routine, which certainly got the guests attention and even managed to get the guests to participate!
