Corporate event at the Jumeirah Carlton Towers

Uptown Events was recommended by the Jumeirah Carlton Towers to one of their clients, who were having a VIP Lunch and Customer Awards in the Garden Rooms.

We were given a budget and the brief was to incorporate the company colours, blue and white, through subtle theming. The event was taking place during December, so we were asked to integrate a Christmas theme in an elegant way.

As this was a small lunch, the client did not want any entertainment. To help to create an atmosphere, a pianist on the grand piano was situated in the corner of the room, providing soft background music.

We positioned colour wash lights in the corners of the function room, as well as wireless uplights, so that we could wash the room to be blue and match the company colours.

The Awards took place on a stage carpeted in the same blue as the company logo, with two plasmas either side playing a video and showing the logo throughout the event.

The room had an elegant feel with mirrored table centres, incorporating candles, different sized vases and blue hydrangeas. The blue linen and ice chairs with blue seat pads helped to give the finishing touch.

As guests were leaving, they were given a branded ‘shopping survival kit’ to take away with them. Inside the bag was a red bull, portable USB charger, branded umbrella and map of the local area with a tube map on the other side. Most of the guests attending were not from London, so we provided them with all of the essentials for an afternoon of shopping in Knightsbridge
