The Brief
To create a fantasy fairy tale world combined with elegance, fun and a wild disco in the heart of London.

The Venue
An exclusive marquee erected for just six weeks a year, in the heart of the City. This amazing and flexible space is adorned with black star cloth ceiling, breath taking light effects, colourful bird cages floating from the ceiling, a modern bar structure and contemporary furniture.

The Party
Guests were entered into an imaginary world for a reception to remember. The large temporary structure was themed with a variety of vibrant colours: turquoise, greens, purples and pink scattered throughout and beautifully arranged low furniture was laid around the main reception area. In front of the fantastic statement bar, large mirrors with illuminating pink floral patterns decorated the facade. Behind the bar, performing cocktail flarers created personalised cocktails which were given to greet the arriving guests.

Throughout the entire evening there was an abundance of entertainment. Debatably the most exciting area during the reception for both adults and children was the dodgems arena which received overwhelming reactions across all ages. Captivatingly moving around the guests was an artistic roller skater who kept all those that attended amused and helped create a busy and exciting atmosphere throughout the reception.

A colourful hippy themed taxi photo booth with personalised number plate and an interior filled with Astroturf, flowers, props and much more was waiting to capture lots of memories from the evening. Amongst the guests was a Pick Pocket stealing belts, ties and everything in between creating a non-stop entertainment environment for both adults and kids. An assortment of food stations were neatly in the room enticing guests to visit a variety of foods from around the world including a sushi bar, salt beef station and a duck stall together with a selection of canapes. Not forgetting the old favourites – mini fish and chip cones and mini burgers, which went down well with all.

Guests then entered into the stunning main room, full of lighting, music, crushed velvet linen and luxurious table centres. The dancing area was sculpted within a round white dome. The dance floor was painted black and white and was surrounded by intelligent lighting equipment. A 15ft screen came down from the ceiling projecting a live feed of speeches, pictures of the family and lyrics for songs made by various friends.

The Bat Mitzvah girl entered from the dome along with a spectacular light show. She then invited all her guests to join her on the dance floor for Israeli dancing. The guests danced non-stop and cold towels were given out to cool down the party.

During dinner Uptown Events’ soul singer, Uche, mingled through the tables and sung classic songs that were impossible not to sing along with. After dinner the dancing started again, but this time the chart music had begun. Accompanying the DJ was a saxophonist and a percussionist pumping up the party and adding extra rhythm. Novelties were given out to all and dancers were dancing with the guests.

The venue, the atmosphere, the entertainment and all the ingredients for the party made it a huge success and a day to remember!
