This was the third function we had done for this family. With all three previous parties done at home in a marquees, the brief this time was to design, create and co-ordinate a fun, memorable Batmitzvah
with a twist. It was really important that was an element of fun with it and food was to keep going all night!
The chosen venue was London Zoo. This certainly was something different! With the Bug House or the Reptile House being suggested as the reception room and a choice of animals proposed to greet guests as they entered, the tone was to be set straight away.
Over 200 guests attended the party. As guests arrived they were greeted by two fire jugglers, a percussionist and a llama who all directed them over to the Bug House. Armed with a hot cup of cider to keep them warm on the journey over, excitement was definitely in the air.
Once in the Bug House, guests were met by a variety of faces including skunks, ferrets and owls along with some delicious canapes! After an hour of taking in all the delights of the Bug House, guests were invited to the main function room where the percussionist was now on our custom built, three tiered, curved pink stage along with a saxophonist and our DJs. In front of the stage was a bespoke pink and black animal print dance floor, created specifically to match the Batmitzvah girl’s invitation. The theme continued throughout the room with pink lights around the room, lit pink feather tower table centres and pink animal print benchers and escort cards.
As guests were seated, a surprise video made for the Batmitzvah girl by her family was shown on both the four plasma screens around the room and the giant screen behind the stage. After this, the curtains concealing the themed buffet stalls were drawn back and everyone was encouraged to eat as much food as possible!
After the meal, the party really got into full swing. With two fantastic male street dancers on one tier of the stage and music videos, visuals and live camera footage of the party being put up on the screens, everyone was definitely in the party spirit having fun. The night went on well past the time it was meant to finish and everyone had a thoroughly good evening.
