Barmitzvah at the Royal Opera House

The Brief
Due to our great reputation of planning the highest standard parties our client knew we were the best company to ask to do their son’s Barmitzvah party. They wanted a unique, mind-blowing venue and a party that would leave their guests in awe. As they had guests flying in from all over the world we knew this had to be a party to remember!

The Event
The Royal Opera house was the chosen venue. With its two different rooms linked by grand escalators, it’s great space and fantastic architecture it was the perfect location to impress guests. The reception room with a wall of glass overlooking the main room below oozed sophistication. The main room with its fantastic high ceiling and floor-to-ceiling window oozed glamour, space and class. Perfect! The tables and chairs were laid with the finest white velvet, the chairs finished off with striking big blue bows. Table centres of tall vases with exotic flowers were the finishing touch!

The Party
As guests entered the venue they were instantly greeted and handed elegant name cards containing their table number, they then entered the plush reception room and the party began. The modern haze of the room of pink, blues and purples set by our intelligent lighting system welcomed guests and set the scene. As the guests mingled, top class waiters and waitresses offered canapes, champagne and fruit juices and on the outdoor terrace top sushi chefs served up the tastiest delights. The guests were entertained by Uptown’s magician and fantastically dressed Human Statues had the guests gasping with delight at their exquisitely detailed costumes. In another area of the room stood a fantastic ice sculpture which gained a lot of attention from the guests as did the fire juggler with his astonishingly daring tricks! Through glass doors guests could enter a room where there was entertainment for the children, Dance Heads, allowing them to feature in their own music videos.

The guests were then welcomed into the main room where they were greeted by incredible live music from a French band that we had flown over especially for the party at the hosts’ request. Around the room were large plasma screens displaying pictures of the Barmitzvah boy throughout the years. After much traditional dancing by the guests they were then seated to a four course meal of the finest cuisine! Once the dining was finished guests were then treated to a spectacular display of opera classics by two of the best opera singers. Recorded speeches by the Barmitzvah boy’s two younger siblings were then shown on the large plasma screens resulting in a lot of “Ahh’s” from the guests!

It was then onto dancing on the main dance floor with the singers and dancers from the band interacting sufficiently with the guests. Novelties provided by Uptown got every guest up on the dance floor having a great time. It was then time for the chocolate fountain to come out which was a hit with a lot of people, especially the children! It was then on to more dancing as guests then danced the night away. A camera linked up to the plasma screens panned the dance floor closing in on unaware individuals resulting in a few squeals and giggles once they realised they were on view to everyone on the large screens. At the unofficial extended end of the night all guests left, with much reluctance, content with a smile on the face, complete with novelties and DVDs in hand.

Another expertly planned event from Uptown and another overly satisfied client!
