To create a fun, elegant and unforgettable night by using state of the art production, design, organisation and a world class band.
Located in the heart of rural Hertfordshire, surrounded by idyllic and beautiful grounds, is the stunning Grove Hotel.
The main room was draped with black material to cover the original walls and windows and create a dark nightclub feeling. White panels were then spaced a few metres apart to break up the sections.
The design of the room helped to create a ‘nightclub’ atmosphere and also had football elements throughout, which the Barmitzvah boy was passionate about.
On either side of the room, custom staging was built creating a stadium effect. Tables around the edge of the room were also positioned on the staging, raising them above floor level.
The stage and dance floor were located in the centre of the room. The stage was 360 degrees, to mimic the shape of a football, and consisted of different levels. This enabled the band to split their musicians on different levels.
A dramatic LED DJ booth was placed in the centre of the stage, lit in blue, contrasting with the black stage and white stage boards. The black LED dance floor fitted perfectly with the colour scheme and overall theme of the event.
Two 16ft screens with state of the art projectors were positioned either side of the stage, presenting images of the family, live camera during the dancing, funky dance visuals and video clips for speeches.
A black and white bar was situated opposite the stage and dance floor, making it easily accessible to guests whilst dancing.
The table cloths, napkins and chair covers were black, which contrasted with the table centres which were LED lit Perspex Candelabras, with a shining disco ball in the centre and white flowers around the base. The children’s place cards were made from electronic tags personalised with each name.
The room was lit with stunning colours and effects all evening, helping to set the mood and theme of a nightclub.
Catering was provided by The Grove hotel. The food was delicious and a mouth-watering experience.
After the starter had been cleared, guests were treated to a surprise act. Nicholas Parsons, former host of BBC Radio 4 comedy panel game Just a Minute, hosted a quiz show featuring astonished guests and the Barmitzvah boy.
Four lecterns with buzzers were placed in the centre of the dance floor, and four lucky contestants were picked from the audience to participate. The quiz consisted of trivial questions about the Barmitzvah boy’s habits, hobbies and lifestyle.
A seven piece band played alongside a DJ, making a memorable and vibrant party. They performed for the entire duration of the evening, throughout dinner and dancing. This created a fun, exciting, non-stop party!
The organisation and planning in the run up to the event helped to create an extremely successful evening in the eyes of the guests, the clients and Uptown Events.
