The Brief
The client came to us wanting a barmitzvah for their eldest son. They wanted an event that oozed class and style to welcome their son into adulthood. The venue had to have an exclusive entrance where there weren’t any other people staying at the hotel able to linger about.
They also wanted a venue that they could keep the children all in one place together that had no pillars or divides in the room obstructing views or movement. The hotel had to have fabulous food and excellent service.
The Venue
After finding out the exact type of venue that our client wanted we decided on the perfect venue to meet their needs – The Carlton Tower Hotel. With its private entrance directly up to the room and its own cloakroom it had the entrance the client desired.
The reception room was separated from the main room by big oak doors that concealed the main room perfectly until it was time for it to be revealed. The sophisticated feel of the hotel and the efficient staff and service were also major selling points for our clients.
The Party
As guests entered they were shown up to the reception room where they were greeted by pleasant staff offering trays of sparkling champagne. Upon entering the beautifully lit room with white fairy lights the guests were able to mingle at ease while being offered tasty canapés and champagne top ups!
The children were entertained by two of our top caricaturists who presented all with personal caricatures of themselves. The large oak doors to the main room were then opened and guests were led through. There were gasps as guests saw the suavely dressed room. The tables were dressed in black table cloths and matching napkins and the chairs in gold velvet. A tall black vase containing orchids finished off the tables perfectly, oozing pure class and grace. The grand chandeliers lit the room creating the perfect ambience.
Our disco and dance floor was set up in the centre of the room accompanied by our state of the art sound and lighting systems. Whilst dinner was being served guests were entertained by Desi, Uptown’s best funky soul singer who gained thunderous applause after each number.
After dinner and speeches it was then on to the dancing! As guests all rushed to the dance floor there were delighted gasps around the room as the dance floor lit up and became a Saturday Night Fever style dance floor complete with colour changing lights! Uptown events very own party dancers helped show the guests all of the moves and really got them in the party spirit, at one point even getting the barmitzvah boy into the middle of a circle to show the moves before being joined by his father. All of the guests were on their feet dancing as Uptowns very own DJ played all of the songs they love.
As the night drew to a close guests were very reluctant to leave the dance floor and as they exited, novelties in hand, ushers could be heard of wanting Uptown Events to host further parties.
