The Brief

To create a stylish, Hollywood Oscars themed Batmitzvah celebration, with something a little extra special.

The Event

Our client chose the stunning Radisson Edwardian Mayfair Hotel, located on Stratton Street. The superb location and stunning function rooms made this hotel the perfect choice to create an extremely stylish party.

The Party

As guests pulled up outside the hotel in their glitz and glamour they were greeted with Uptown Events very own paparazzi, creating a perfect start to a glamorous celebration. Once guests entered the hotel they were directed to the magnificent Atrium room where drinks and canapés were being served. Guests were then called for dinner and made their way to the Crystal room, on entrance to the room guests walked down a red carpet run way, lined with ropes and posts. Inside, the room had been fully decorated to incorporate the theme of the party. Each table had extravagant flower table centres, chairs were covered and had lavish bows, Oscar props were placed around the room, gold balloons were suspended spelling the name of the Batmitzvah girl and a large black and white dance floor had been put in place in order to meet the needs of this particularly lively crowd. Lighting around the room incorporated a fully operated lighting system consisting of a series of sophisticated state of the art computer controlled moving-head lights, which creates superb effects on the dance floor and surrounding area. The lighting was programmed and operated by our lighting engineer all night and the lighting was choreographed to the music as well as the mood changes throughout the dancing. Further lighting consisted of pin spotting and a custom made gobo of the Batmitzvah girl’s name. Our sound system and DJ booth was also set up in front of the large dance floor. The overall effect was superb and created an extremely stylish ambience.

The evening was structured by a magnificent and well know Marilyn Monroe look and sound-alike. Guests enjoyed an excellent 3 courses, with some lively dancing breaks in between. After the main course there was an extra special surprise for the guests, Ray Quinn (runner up of the X-factor 2006) made a guests appearance and performed songs from his latest tour. This was a great surprise and got all of the guests on their feet, especially the Batmitzvah girl and her friends. After Ray’s performance a treat for those with a sweet tooth was unveiled, a magnificent dessert bar, serving every dessert you could imagine, chefs were making crepes to order, along with an ice cream bar.

The Uptown Events disco then started, the dance floor was immediately crowded and our renowned party dancers were getting the crowd following routines whilst novelties of every kind were being handed out to the crowd.

Uptown Events yet again managed to create a memorable celebration and succeeded in providing our client with a glamorous party to remember.
